Cornwall Hospice Care is planning the Cornish charity’s fourth annual Great Cornish Cake Bake Day.

This year the event falls on Friday, May 4 and the date – May the fourth be with you - has prompted organisers to introduce a Stars Wars theme. 

Community fund-raiser Judy Lawton said: ‘Invitations have been sent to all previous participants of this simply cake-tastic day and we’d like everyone with a love of cake to join in.’

People are encouraged to make and sell cakes at events on the day – last year’s county-wide effort raised £8,000-plus.
