St Pinnock Band have once again won the Cornwall Brass Band Association's Annual Championship, held at The Hall for Cornwall, Truro, on Saturday.

They won the Second Section Cornwall Championship, one point ahead of second placed Bugle Band. Jane Whitehead, St Pinnock's solo horn player, won the Best Instrumentalist award in the section.

The Band's next contest will be the West of England regional championship and national qualifier on Sunday, March 26 at the Colston Hall, Bristol. Reg Harris, musical director, said the band is preparing hard for Bristol and he is looking forward to another successful day. Supporters and friends are invited to travel on the band's coach which will leave East Taphouse at approximately 8.30am and park close to the City Centre harbour. The Band's next major local performance will be at the annual St Germans Festival on May 14 with the East Cornwall Bach Choir and the Orchestra for Cornwall, supported by South West Arts.
