ST Stephens Primary school was visited by Angela Roberts and three very special guests from the Screech Owl Sanctuary, Indian Queens, on Monday. Richmond, Hibou and Stephanie, owls at the sanctuary, were brought along to aid a presentation on owls as a follow-up from the school's recent studies on greek mythology - which features owls prominently. Angela discussed the history of the owl, as well as describing many of the birds' attributes and the egg-hatching process. During and after the talk, pupils were encouraged to draw and research different types of owl, while Angela also arranged a question and answer session. At the end of the presentation, children were able to touch and hold Richmond, a British barn owl, Hibou, an Africa white-faced owl, and Stephanie, an African spotted eagle owl.
