West Looe Town Trust have recently helped a dream come true for four lucky youngsters from Looe Junior Football Club, by funding a week's specialist training at Reading University, being coached by former England and Tottenham Hotspur boss, Terry Venables.

Representing teams from U13s to U16s, Adrian Walker, Daniel Goldsworthy, Daniel Fulford and Stefan Hodgson spent five days of intensive training which included all aspects of football from basic skills to eleven a side matches and tactics. Among the coaches assisting Terry were former Arsenal star Eddie McGoldrick and professionals Terry Foley and Gary White.

The Trust have sponsored the local club for many years and suggested they should send four of their players on the training course.

They said they considered clubs such as the Junior FC were essential to the community and the success they achieved was by virtue of the young members' own impressive application to the sport, the support shown by many parents and in particular the dedication of the officers and team coaches and managers.

The Trustees are now considering making this an annual event.
