Snooker League

The finals of the Knockout Cup were held at Liskeard Conservative Club, with Dobwalls A and Looe Social A contesting the Senior Cup and Callington A and Gunnislake the Junior Cup.

The Senior final lived up to expectations producing some excellent snooker and going to the final frame.

Dobwalls, looking to take a two frame lead, saw Martin Rowe in a prime position get snookered on the pink only to miss and leave Neil Marshall to snatch the frame.

The man of the match in the Senior Final was Dobwalls' Kevin Steed, who cued superbly with breaks of 47 and 32.

With Looe Social being two frames to one down Neil Bassett levelled the score with some flamboyant cuing knocking in a fine 37 break.

The final frame was one way traffic for the Premiers leading player Mark Woodman who romped home to a 71-4 point win for Dobwalls, who add the Knockout Cup to the Premier title.

With the Champions and runners-up of Division Two meeting in the Junior Final, last year's winners Gunnislake failed to retain the Knockout Cup losing to Callington A by three frames to one.

Paul Hutchings gave Gunnislake the lead but Callington replied through Peter Bourne, Stewart Walsh and Dave Batten to lift the trophy.

Junior Knockout final: Gunnislake 1 Callington A 3 (P Hutchings 52 C Boundy 42; N Brimacombe 32 P Bourne 57; C Dingle 36 S Walsh 48; T Campbell 37 D Batten 47).

With all outstanding fixtures now completed the promotion and relegation places have been decided.

Leading the First Division from October, Pelynt A dropped vital points in their last two matches to allow Dobwalls C to snatch the title.

Titles in Division Two and Three were won by a comfortable margin by Gunnislake and Lostwithiel Cons.
