At the Millennium Centre, Pensilva the summer skittles league got under way, where 10 local teams of four took to the alleys.
First to play were the Middlers, captained by Margaret Edwards, versus the Gravediggers, captained by Zoe Raper, where in a close game the Middlers came out winners four points to two with just four pins separating the teams totals.
Next game saw the Moorlanders, captain Richard Haines, take on the Gremlins (Andy Hassam) where at half-time the scores were level, but Andy's team went on to win by 5-1 points.
The latecomers (Dennis Coniam) were five pins up at half-time in their game versus the Underdogs (Irene Elliott) who went on to win this one four points to two.
Gerry Edwards' Potholers went on to easily clinch the remaining four points. Last game of the evening the Bodmin Leaders (Mavis Jeffery) easily got the better of Galaxy team (Ken Couchman) of four to record the first maximum win so far and the highest pin fall of 275 pins.
