Division One

Hits and Misses were deprived of Division One top spot last week, but not for long as they now head the table following a decisive 6-0 point win over the Cast-Offs, where 52 pins separated the total pin fall at the end of the night's play.

Hotshots slowed up Bulldogs challenge as although they were in arrears by 13 pins a half time improved greatly in the second half to end their evening with an overall one pin majority and a 4-2 point victory.

Callington entertained Rebels and looked set for a maximum win as they held a 22 pin lead after four legs, but yet again the scoring was reversed for Rebels to take the two second half points at stake, allowing Callington to take a 4-2 point victory with only two pins separating the teams.

With just four weeks to go in league skittles, it looks like the top two teams will take honours, but with six points at stake in each game those last few days could show some interesting results. Jets are out of the running as at their visit to St Neot and found the Londoners again in good scoring form taking all six points with their 21 victory. Edwardians just creep out of the relegation area. They visited the Barley Oats and were 31 pins up at half time, but the girls did scared them in the second half failing by one pin to collect points, leaving a 6-0 point win for the visitors.

Division Two

In a top of the table clash at LBC, a close game of skittles was on the cards when the Ditchers met the Crickets. However the visitors got the better of the home side winning both halves comfortably, ending up with a 37 pin advantage and six points to put them in the runner-up spot.

Just one point ahead of them holding onto top place are the Terriers who on their visit the Sandpipers at Millendreath, came away empty handed. They found the home side tough opposition, particularly Terry Powell and his 95 pins. The title is also open for fourth place Burley Booties, as after being nine pins in arrears at half time when they played Oddballs, they stormed back to get the better of the remaining skittling, ending up 4-2 point winners.

Marquees are also another team with their sights on division one skittles next season, as in their away game versus the Legionaires they got the better of both halves with an 18 pin overall victory. Marketeers who have three games to play just hold a slim chance of promotion as four more points came they way in their home game against Woodentops who did show a great second half performance to reap their two points.

Division Three

As in Divisions One and Two the prospects for promotion in Division Three are looking very close with the top five teams relying on good results from their last three or four games. The highlight of this was seen at Treburley, where top placed Four x 4's received the Hobos who held an 11 pin advantage after four legs. However, the home side did just manage by four pins to gain the two second half points, resulting in four useful points for the Hobos who trail by just two points in the league table.

At Lanreath the Rally team carried on with their success story when they managed to win both halves over Tri-Ards who were a trifle unlucky in the first half. Also in a favourable position and with four games to play the Madhatters look serious contenders for promotion as all six points came their way from their encounter with the Clementines, who on paper look to be pointing to division four skittles next season. Demons are also in the danger area, they could only manage two second half points in their home encounter with the visiting Foxes, who ended the evening with a 29 pin advantage and the remaining four points.

Nomads produced better form than of late as in a home encounter they got the better of both halves against Growlers showing a 62 pin overall advantage.

Results - Four x 4's 497 pins (249 + 248) 2 pts - Dave Pritchard, 76 pins. Hobos 504 pins (260 + 244) 4 pts - Malcolm Barber, 72 pins.

Demons 451 pins (219 + 232) 2 pts - Gary Williams, 62 pins. Foxes 480 pins (250 + 230) 4 pts - Ged O'Donoghue, 78 pins.

Nomads 523 pins (257 + 266) 6 pts - Mike Ball, 77 pins. Growlers 461 pins (214 + 247) 0 pts - Graham Davey, 70 pins.

Division Four

With four remaining Division Four games to be played, the Circles come within seven points of the leaders - Millers. From their game against the Ladybirds, Circles got the better of both halves by 42 pins and six points in the bag.

The Flyers looked for six points to boost their challenge as things looked good after four legs with their 15 pin majority, but the Bilge Rats were the better team in the second period ending their evening 4-2 point winners just lifting them off the bottom place. Just four pins separated the Linedancers and Thrashers at half time in the Dancers favour, who improved greatly in the second four legs to record a useful 6-0 win and hold on to fifth place in the table.

The Socialites must feel very disappointed with their second half performance at Pensilva where they played the Breakaways. Although only one pin separated the teams at half time the Breakaways scored 58 pins more than their opponents did in the second period ending up with a 4-2 point home victory.

Results - Circles 482 pins (248 + 234) 6 pts - Stephen Dyer, 73 pins. Ladybirds 440 pins (218 + 222) 0 pts - Rose James, 59 pins.
