For those unable to witness any of the Tour of Britain cycle race through Cornwall in person today (Sunday), the action is being televised live on ITV4.

The coverage, which will also be a great way to appreciate our beautiful part of the world, is due to begin at 10.45am and continue until 4pm - with highlights being shown at 8pm.

Today’s ’Grand Depart’ stage one through Cornwall is on the 180.8km route from Penzance to Bodmin, and passing through St Just, Zennor, St Ives, Hayle, Camborne, Pool, Redruth, Falmouth, Penryn, Truro, Crantock and Newquay before passing close to the Eden Project to reach the finish at Bodmin. Matt Barbet will present, with analysis from Pippa York and commentary by Ned Boulting and Adam Blyth.

The same channel will be showing Devon’s Sherford to Exeter second stage on Monday. The route will be through the South Hams from Sherford to Modbury, Harbertonford, Dartmouth, Stoke Fleming, Strete, Slapton Leigh, Torcross, Kingsbridge and Ivybridge, then over Dartmoor via Lee Moor, Cadover Bridge, Yelverton, Tavistock, Princetown, Two Bridges, Moretonhampstead and Dunsford, then via Cowley Bridge and into Exeter.
