Residents in Kelly Bray who battled unsuccessfully to save a hall in their village have filed a second complaint with the Parliamentary Ombudsman.
John Kennaugh, who is a member of the Kelly Bray Residents Association, remains upset about the long-running saga which eventually saw the Cornwall Federation of WIs (CFWI) being allowed to sell the hall.
The wrangle over the ownership of the hall had involved a complaint to the ombudsman.
The site, with an additional piece of land, is now on the market for £130,000 with planning consent for two new homes. The association says the hall was sold for £25,000.
John and his wife Pam, who is a former president of the Kelly Bray WI, have lodged a new complaint with the ombudsman.
This follows an admission from the Charity Commission that it misadvised the CFWI during the wrangle.
‘The Charity Commission accept that they got it wrong… but they have not communicated with us following their discovery or answered our emails as to where that leaves us, which is why we have made a complaint to the ombudsman,’ said John.
