AROUND half a century of memories are being pulled together for an exhibition marking the end of one of the region's schools. Pam Shaw, headteacher at Liskeard Infants School, is calling for anyone with memories of the school to come forward and share their stories and photographs before the school shuts at the end of the summer term in July this year. The infants school will then amalgamate with Liskeard Junior School at Old Road where it will be known as Liskeard Hillfort Primary School. It is hoped that enough material will be gathered to create an exhibition mapping the school's 50-year history. Some artefacts of school life have already been collected, though people collecting the memories at the school have found it difficult getting hold of information and photographs from the 1950s. The exhibition is planned for June, a month before the school will close. It will either be held at the school or somewhere available to the public in the town.
