Parents, governors and teachers joined the congregation at Burraton Methodist Church when the choir and instrumentalists from Burraton Primary School paid their annual visit to the church for an Education Sunday service.
All the children taking part were from years five and six, and voluntarily participated in the service and readings, prepared by deputy head Terry Spencer and year six teacher Lisa Tamblyn.
Edward Jacobs, the music and creative arts co-ordinator, prepared the music and organised the service. The welcome was given by superintendent minister the Rev Ian Souter and head teacher Peter Hunkin introduced the service which had as its theme 'Time to Learn'.
The children gave their thoughts on the subject, these expressed by Jade Grimwood, Laura Crosbie, Carly Scholes, Jonathon Archer, Geoffrey Heap, Hannah Ainsworth, Lawrence Scott and Kerra Strongman.
The presentation was interspersed with items by the school choir, with instrumental accompaniment. Thanks and closing prayers were given by Mr Souter.
The evening service was conducted by the Rev Ray Stevenson, supernumerary minister, and the organist was Muriel Nicholson.
