A £140,000 road improvement scheme to protect a town centre from the 'adverse effects' of a major new superstore may not be finished by the time it opens.
As part of the planning application for the new Tesco store in Callington, an agreement was put in place that the supermarket giant would provide Cornwall Council with funding specifically for road improvements in the town centre.
The store is due to open in two months but despite Tesco providing the money, town councillors are still waiting for a meeting with Cornwall Council's highways department to finalise the scheme.
More details in this week's Cornish Times.
