SALTASH RNLI branch's year began with a quiz held at Saltash Sailing Club, where quiz compiler and question master Mike Hughes hosted 18 teams. With the entrance fee and raffle, with prizes donated by Saltash businesses, the group raised £166 for the RNLI. In February, a barn dance was held at Burraton Community Hall when the Ideal Village Band, from Golberton, played for 65 people. Pasties, donated by Ginsters, were served during the interval. The band entertained with Appaluchian toe dancing and music played on the hurdy gurdy, plus a monologue. The evening raised £260 for the RNLI.
