Two weeks of heavy rain, a venue switch from the Port Eliot estate at St Germans to Cotehele due to a waterlogged parking area and a biting wind on the day did not deter 423 young runners.

The pupils enthusiastically tackled their second races of the season in the Cornish Times-sponsored East Cornwall Harriers Primary Schools Cross-Country League.

The record turn-out for the Cotehele fixture, in National Trust grounds, saw over 40 more runners than last year and underlined just how popular the league has become.
