The women's section of the Royal British Legion in Liskerd recently held their annual meeting, in the branch headquarters.
President, Christine Pampling, opened the meeting and welcomed l8 members. Activities and fund-raising events from the past year were outlined, which included cream teas, marmalade sales and trips out. A total of £300 had been given to the local RBL benevolent fund, and £200 to the poppy appeal.
A speaker had talked to the ladies at most of the monthly meetings, and last year's Christmas lunch had been enjoyed by 40 people, including members from Menheniot branch. Mrs Pampling said she was pleased the section had a membership of over 200 ladies. The next meeting will be on January l8 at 2pm.
Officers elected were as follows: C Pampling president; C Graves chairman; A Mascard secretary, P Sharp treasurer and membership secretary and S Murray standard bearer.
