A BOXFUL of cakes for busy hospital staff and a free concert of Christmas music were just two of the treats on offer as Liskeard took part in Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK).

It was the second year that local people have been inspired by the Liskeard Community Action (LCA) group to dream up kind gestures in the festive period.

The random acts themselves were varied, as people responded in different ways to the concept, but all resulted in the ‘feel good factor’ for giver and recipient alike.

While students from Liskeard School and Community College delivered hampers to the elderly residents of Eventide Care Home, businesses offered gifts and giveaways to deserving nominees.

Choir Levowan XII performed a free concert at the church in Menheniot as part of their commitment to making live music accessible to everyone.

And at the Liskerrett Centre, a host of volunteers and groups came together to put on a Christmas party for families.

Supporting the event were the Real Junk Food Project Plymouth, the Liskeard Co-op , Dazzling Faces face-painting, Liskeard and Looe Round Table and Cheery Buys.
