Four of Cornwall’s most innovative property projects, two of them from South East Cornwall, have been shortlisted for prestigious industry accolades - including the overall Project of the Year title - in the 2017 Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Awards, South West.
The annual awards have become affectionately known as the region’s property Oscars, and this year 38 schemes of all sizes and budgets – from all over the region - are in with a chance of gaining industry recognition, along with the teams behind them.
Shortlisted projects include the Old Station Masters House, Fowey (in the Regeneration category) and Reflection, Portwinkle (in the Residential category).
Old Station Master’s House is a collection of six apartments and duplex maisonettes in a historic building together with seven new build 2 bedroom apartments with river views.
Judges said Reflection at Portwinkle ’defies tricky planning designation whilst forming a discreet gateway to the village. The project gave back to the community, protects against coastal erosion to the only beach access and attracts visitors in its own right. A sustainable building that will stand the test of time as great architecture should.’
The South West 2017 RICS Awards, take place on May 11 at the Bristol Marriott Hotel.
