THE crews and views from two South East Cornwall lifeboat stations are to be captured this week as part of a photographer’s project to visit all the UK’s 237 RNLI lifeboat stations.

Life-long enthusiast of the RNLI, Jack Lowe, will be in Looe and Fowey, as part of the RNLI Lifeboat Station Project.

He has been travelling around the UK visiting every lifeboat station and photographing the breathtaking views from each station, along with the crew members and coxswains and senior helms.

He uses a wet plate collodion, a Victorian process that allows him to record the images on glass.

Jack, grandson of Dad’s Army actor Arthur Lowe, said: ‘From an early age I knew I wanted to either be a photographer or a lifeboat crew member. This trip has given me the opportunity to fulfil both my dreams. It’s fantastic to see how many people have been so interested and engaged with the project’

The public can see Jack in action at Fowey on Tuesday (September 29) and Looe on Wednesday (September 30).
