POLICE are continuing to investigate a suspected attempted murder in which a woman was allegedly shot in the head.
The incident is said to have taken place in the Millendreath car park, near Looe, at around 11pm on Sunday.
Police were called to a Looe address at 7am on Monday by an ambulance crew who were treating a woman in her 50s with a head wound.
Police said the injury could possibly have been caused by an air rifle.
The woman was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where she underwent surgery and still remains in a serious condition.
Police have made three arrests.
A 44-year-old man, arrested on Monday on suspicion of attempted murder, was released yesterday without charge, pending further police investigations.
Two further men, a 47-year-old arrested on Monday, and a 66-year-old arrested on Tuesday, both on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released on police bail until December 16.
Armed officers, a specialist search team, local police and the force helicopter carried out an intensive search in and around Millendreath on Monday. The arrests of the first two men came at 2.30pm near St Martin's Churchyard.
Other officers closed off the Millendreath car park. Vehicles leaving the area were stopped and searched.
