Have you cast your vote yet?

Voters have been braving the atrocious weather in Cornwall to make their mark in today’s General Election.

Postal votes have already been cast by millions of people in the UK - but if you’ve forgotten to post yours, you can drop it off at any polling station in your constituency.

And if you want to vote but you are too poorly, or have been called away to work at the last minute, you can arrange for someone to vote on your behalf before 5pm today: get in touch with the electoral registration centre at St Austell (0300 123 1115).

Polling stations everywhere will be open until 10pm, after which the votes will be counted for South East and North Cornwall at the Bodmin Leisure Centre.

It will be a long night for the candidates and their teams as they await the results, which should be announced some time in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Standing in South East Cornwall are Gareth Derrick (Labour), Martha Green (Green Party), Jay Latham (Liberal Party) Colin Martin (Liberal Democrats) and Sheryll Murray (Conservatives).

In North Cornwall the candidates are Joy Bassett (Labour), Danny Chambers (Liberal Democrats), Elmars Liepins (Liberal Party) and Scott Mann (Conservatives).
