GREEN campaigners are to stage a series of public meetings in Cornwall tackling Brexit.
Molly Scott Cato, Green MEP for South West England and party spokesperson on Brexit, will host one of the meetings at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland.
Members of the public are invited to put their questions about any issues or concerns they have about the UKs planned departure from the EU.
The Duchy College event is on October 31 at 7pm.
Molly Scott Cato said: ‘Cornwall is a relatively isolated region and faces issues of low pay and high deprivation.
‘The region has benefited greatly from EU funding, in particular the European Regional Development Fund, and from support for developing trading relationships with similar regions such as Brittany.
‘However, Cornwall is only represented at Westminster by Tory MPs who appear to be backing a disastrous “hard Brexit”.
‘That’s why I want to hear first-hand the opinions of Cornish residents, and to discuss some of the critical issues facing the Cornish economy such as farming, fisheries, tourism and so on.’
Molly Scott Cato will also be meeting the Deputy Leader of Cornwall Council, local businesses and community groups.
