Devon & Cornwall Police are holding a day of action on Saturday to raise awareness and prevent incidents of livestock worrying on Bodmin Moor.
Representatives from the rural engagement team, special constabulary and local neighbourhood teams will be available to provide advice and help educate dog owners on how to be responsible when using the moor.
Reported attacks on livestock on Bodmin Moor have increased since April 2018 and so far 54 sheep have been killed, 22 injured and 11 rescued after being chased over a quarry. However, it is thought the number of attacks could be higher as many go un-reported. Incidents of livestock worrying can result in horrific injuries to animals, the loss of unborn lambs and a devastating impact finically on a farmer and their livelihood.
The awareness events will be held at at Minions and Pensilva between 11am and 3pm.
All incidents of livestock worrying should be reported to the police by emailing 101 or by reporting the incident online.
