TWO 8ft-tall cannabis plants have been found growing in the countryside – just days after another plant was spotted growing on a playing field. The two large plants were found in a 'rural location' on Wednesday, said police. Liskeard and Looe sector inspector John Turner said: 'It is likely that the owner would have returned to the site to water the plants.' PC Mark Smith said that cannabis cultivated rurally, in a field for example, is not as common as it being grown within homes, where members of the public are less likely to come across it. But on Monday, police were stunned after a cannabis plant was found on a rugby playing field. The seven-inch plant appeared to be growing naturally in the Liskeard/Looe rugby pitch opposite Lux Park Leisure Centre. It was reported anonymously to the Cornish Times and taken to Liskeard police station where Sgt Dave Cartwright confirmed it was cannabis. 'I have known of it growing in hedges and lanes, but nothing quite like this,' he said.
