The Liskeard Poets are to launch their third volume of poetry in Liskeard Public Hall on August 18.

The group meets monthly in Stuart House, Liskeard.

It has been active for around 30 years and has contained both published poets and novelists. The group’s founder was local poet, Ann Gray, who has since become a prize-winning, nationally recognised writer.

The launch, a free event, follows on from another of their successful appearances at the recent Port Eliot Festival.

They have also given readings in other venues including the Bodmin Moor Poetry Festival, Calstock Arts and the Looe Literary Festival.

The book’s title is ’Out of the Box’ - a reference to a feature of their meetings that will be explained on the launch night.

’Out of the Box’ will be available to buy on the night at a special reduced price. Following this, it will be available via Amazon, good bookshops or directly from the writers at Stuart House.
