A LARGE crowd of about 100 bidders turned up to West Looe Playgroup's grand fundraising auction and raffle at The Portbyhan Hotel on Saturday. Bidding was fast with the large display of donated items reaching the sum of £1,034. With the huge raffle plus some generous donations, the final total reached £1,605. The money is to be spent on new toys and books for the playgroup children plus some repairs to their building. The committee say they are very grateful to Trevor May who was an excellent auctioneer, all the people who came along, the donors of auction and raffle items, and everyone at The Portbyhan Hotel. 'It was a fantastic evening, said playgroup treasurer Natacha Lane.
