County planners have said no to a proposal for 18 new homes on the outskirts of Pensilva.
The scheme, put forward by Montagu Town Planning on behalf of client Andrew Borlase, would have seen 10 affordable and eight open market houses being built on agricultural land west of Roseveare Close.
Lack of safe pedestrian access to the site from the village was cited as one of the reasons for refusing the plan.
In addition, the mix of affordable housing proposed ‘did not reflect identified local needs’, said planning officer Patrick James.
