PLANE spotters have been out in force to watch the world’s largest passenger airliner come in to land at Cornwall Airport Newquay.
The Emirates A380 left Dubai at their local time of 5.51am and arrived in the UK shortly after 11am.
The iconic superjumbo can carry more than 850 passengers. Known for its quiet, spacious cabin, the four-engine jet features amenities like showers and bars.
Many people recorded video and captured pictures of the plane as it soared overhead.
One plane spotter said: “It flew over us here in St Dennis. I couldn’t get my phone quick enough. It was that low you could read the word Emirates on it’s undercarriage.”
Another said: “It practically flew over my car really low. Amazing.”
There has been speculation the A380 is being stored at Cornwall Airport Newquay whilst others believe the plane is undergoing maintenance and servicing.

There was plenty of runway for the plane to come in to land as Cornwall Airport Newquay has a 2,744-metre stretch, which makes it one of the longest in the UK.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Airport Newquay said: “A very special visitor just touched down at Newquay. The iconic Emirates A380 has landed.
“Did you catch it? We know plenty of you had your cameras ready.”
