Businesses in Looe and Polperro may see a boost in trade this summer thanks to plans for a new bus service linking the two towns during the evenings.

The service is due to run from the end of May to the end of October, from 6.45pm to 11.45pm. It would be funded by Looe Town Council, Lansallos Parish Council and Cornwall Council if it gets the go-ahead, costing the taxpayer £10,000. Cornwall Council has agreed to contribute £5,000 to the project, while Lansallos Parish Council is contributing £1,000 and Looe Town Council is contributing £4,000. There is currently no bus service out of Polperro during the evenings. It is hoped the service will encourage residents and visitors to use pubs, shops and restaurants at night, rather than staying at home or on campsites.
