Pensilva Summer Skittles league - Landers clinch title

With just one game left Landers made sure of the championship with a 5-1 win over the Galaxy Four - a match which featured a very dramatic drawn first half, with just four pins separating the teams at the close thanks to Landers' skipper Mavis Jeffery and her 81 pins.

Tigers didn't produce their usual level of skill in their encounter against the lowly-placed Rascals, who took all six points with a 20-pin margin. However, the Tigers are assured of the runner-up spot and a trophy.

The Gremlins, eagerly wanting to hold on to third spot, did all they could and secured all six points against the much-improved Golden Girls, who failed in the second half of their match to add more points to their total of 16.

The Hillsecs showed an improved performance against the Potholers, as they held a 14-pin advantage after four legs. However, the Potholers did improve to rescue two points in the remaining four, but it gave the Hillsecs a useful 4-2 victory.

A very close affair was witnessed as the Quarriers and Middlers took to the alley and showed just a four-pin lead by the Quarriers at half-time. But the Middlers did have the advantage in the second period by one pin to salvage two points. Well done to the Quarriers though, who came out best by a margin of three pins, adding four points to their total.
