A FAMILY-RUN pasty shop in Looe were delighted to see that it’s pasties went down a treat with comedians Alan Carr and Lee Peart on a recent episode of their weekly podcast.
Pasties from Sarah’s Pasty Shop, based in Buller Street, were supplied to Bottoms Up!, a podcast where long-time friends, Alan and Lee, get together for a good old gossip while deconstructing a world they've often enjoyed but never fully understood.
Their most recent episode, which featured guest star Holly Willoughby, started with the pair trying out the savoury treats while reminiscing about their memories of visiting Cornwall. The pasties were met with warm approval, with Alan going on to state: “Sarah, they are delicious, I love them.”
The pair thanked Sarah’s Pasty Shop for supplying the pasties, as well as giving the listeners some brief details on the business itself.
Alongside the food were four Cornish beers and ciders which were also given a try by the podcasting duo. They included Doom Bar from Sharps Brewery, Rattler of Healey’s Cider Farm, along with St Austell Brewery’s Tribute and Korev.
On hearing the news that their pasties had received high praise from Alan and Lee, a post on Sarah’s Pasty Shop’s Facebook page read: “After sending Alan Carr, Lee Peart and the Bottoms Up! team a little taste of Cornwall, our Pixie Pasties, Cornish beers and ciders made it onto this week’s episode!
“As a small, family-run business that’s been serving for over 30 years, moments like this mean the world! A huge thank you to the whole Bottoms Up! team for giving us the opportunity—and we’re so glad everyone enjoyed a taste of Cornwall!”
The podcast is available to listen to on all major podcast platforms or to watch on YouTube.
