AFTER a wait of almost six months, the parishes of Talland and Lansallos officially have a new vicar.

The Bishop of Truro, Rt Rev Bill Ind, officiated at the induction at Lansallos on Saturday of 33 year old William Braviner who will become the Rector and also Vicar of Lansallos and St Johns in Polperro. Also present were be the Archdeacon of Bodmin, Rev Rodney Whiteman.

Rev Braviner, his wife Angela and two young sons, Ben aged 5 and Jon 4, have enjoyed the last three weeks settling into their new home at the Talland Vicarage, and village life, the boys having already attended Polperro Primary School. The family say they have received a marvellous welcome from parishioners, with everyone being very friendly and helpful.

A former chartered accountant Rev Braviner has spent the last three and a half years as curate of St Anne's in Royton, Lancashire, and this will be his first appointment as priest in charge of his own parish.
