I have been lucky enough to have taken part since June in The Pirates and Buccaneer Days on Tuesdays in Looe and have enjoyed every minute of it. (I am the one in the sort of Gilbert and Sullivan outfit who is neither a pirate nor a wench, but a bit of both).

To spend a day a week amongst smiles and happiness is the height of pleasure. Dressing up the children (and ones not so young) in pirate hats, plastic cutlasses and imitation pistols has been a delight.

I'm sorry for the old misery-guts (very few) who say, 'Silly fools, making idiots of themselves'. People have been so generous with their donations to the Treasure Chest and we thank them very much, also those who have written nice letters about us in the Cornish Times.

Roll on next summer - we'll be back - 'One and All'.
