Recently, over a period of a week, I have had cause to seek advice on two unrelated matters from the trading standards officers of the counties of Cornwall and Sussex.
The helpful responses I received in each case certainly confirms County Standards officer PG Crewdson's account of the excellent work carried out by his profession (18.2.00).
That said, I must query as ingenuous Mr Crewdson's belief that the law is what Government lawyers believe it to be.
It is not always that simple, for down the centuries the owners of many august posteriors placed upon leather benches of ascending wisdom, have overturned similar claims of misplaced certitude.
