A First World War exhibition will open at the National Trust’s Trelissick tomorrow, June 11, as part of a programme of art experiences and events connecting people with the First World War.

Cornwall Crafts Association invited its members to create a piece of work inspired by the war in recognition of the centenary of this significant milestone in world history. Twenty six craftsmen have produced work on their personal exploration and reflection of the war, which will be on show at Trelissick house.

Alongside the contemporary craft pieces, never-before-seen photos of Trelissick during the war will be on display for the first time.

Following research headed by Dr Jo Esra, these items were uncovered along with interesting information about Trelissick and its involvement in the war. These will be on show as part of the exhibition.

The exhibition be open Tuesday to Sundays in the house until July 31.
