Cornwall’s Boardmasters will throw the spotlight onto Cornish acts on a brand new stage this year.

Organisers have announced a first-time partnership with  BBC Music Introducing in Cornwall, with less than three months to go until this year’s festival.

The addition will see three days of the best in home-grown talent perform alongside headliners James Bay, Kaiser Chiefs and Chase and Status who are all set to play between August 10 and 14 at Newquay.

Thirty-nine acts carefully curated with the BBC Introducing in Cornwall team will perform over three days on the new The Net Loft stage.

Acts on the bill include  Seven Cities who have had their hard-hitting riffs featured on BBC Radio 1’s new music show, brothers  Echo Town on the back of their recent European tour and Cornwall’s favourite garage punks  The Black Tambourines.

Other bands and artists who’ll be gracing The Net Loft stage include  Dustbowl Children, Abbie Piper, John Buckley, The Sum Of, The Raise, Waxx, Fire & the Brain, Stone Roots, Syd Miles, The Isabelles, Night Motor and  Blue River.

BBC Music Introducing in Cornwall supports local talent that is unsigned and yet-to-be discovered. Its Saturday night show on BBC Cornwall radio promotes up-and-coming artists each week.
