PASSENGERS will be able to keep track of their bus after a new app was launched.
The Plymouth Citybus mobile app enables customers to plan their journey and keep an eye on the whereabouts of their bus.
An interactive map shows people the fastest journey options - including walking times - and tells passengers when the next bus is due to depart.
The real-time bus tracking feature will be useful to people taking an unfamiliar journey, says Plymouth Citybus, which operates here as Go-Cornwall Bus.
A spokesperson said: ‘Those unfamiliar with the area or children who are unsure which stop to get off can now use the app to follow their journey while on board the bus to see which stops are next and when they will arrive at their destination.’
The new app also contains an improved ticket buying functionality, so users can make boarding the bus easy and quick by purchasing tickets in advance.
Mark Collins, head of Commercial and Marketing at Plymouth Citybus, said: ‘Following the launch of contactless payments across the Plymouth Citybus fleet at the end of 2017, this is another big step forward in us removing the barriers people have to travelling on buses.
‘Our old app was very popular and allowed users to buy tickets and view news information. The new app however, completely transforms the user experience and allows our passengers to take more control of their journey in terms of planning their route and tracking their bus.
The app is available to download for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
