THE building of a new house with and integral garage in Millbrook has been recommended for a approval, with conditions by Caradon's planners. The plan, which was set to be discussed at last night's Caradon Planning Control Committee (east) concerns the land adjacent to Dodbrook Cottage, Millbrook. The site is located within the development limit for the village and measures approximately 500 meters squared. The plan received objections from Millbrook Parish Council, which said that the ne whouse would represent an over-development of the site and said the proposed property would not blend in with the oldest part of Millbrook. The council also pointed out that access to the house was on a very busy main route into Millbrook and the Rame Peninsula. There were also objections from neighbours. Mr M J L Frost said that additional vehicular access and traffic leading on to an already busy main road will result in traffic problems. F E Barnes said that the proposed building was 'totally out of keeping with the area.' In regards to extra traffic, Caradon's planners said the plot is not too far from the village and traffic speeds in this area are low. On the subject of over-development, the planners said that the site can adequately accommodate the development.
