Metal detecting enthusiasts from St Austell Metal Detecting Club are hoping to find hidden treasure at a charity rally on August 19 and 20.
The rally is happening at Boswellack Farm in St Allen where records go back as far as 1201.
Club chairman Allan Stewart said: ’It is a really exciting opportunity for us to dig on ground that has never been searched before. Last weekend on nearby land we uncovered a bronze age gold finger ingot and a Roman coin amongst other items. The ingot is currently being authenticated by Truro Museum.’
All proceeds from this rally will go directly to the Merlin MS Centre and its range of expert care, support and therapies for people whose lives are affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and other neurological conditions.
To book a place please contact either Allan Stewart at [email protected] or Ellie Pitt at Merlin MS Centre on 01726 885530.
