The Met Office is warning of very strong and gusty winds during Wednesday night and Thursday morning with gusts of 60 to 70 mph on coasts and 50 to 60 mph inland. They warn there may be some delays to road, rail air and ferry transport are there may be problems for high-sided vehicles crossing bridges and on exposed routes.

Winds are expected to pick up again on Friday lunchtime and last until 6pm on Saturday. The Met Office says that some coastal communities could be see large waves and sea spray.
