A community interest company that destigmatises male mental health is looking for volunteers to take part in a project.

‘Alright Mate’ wants to record conversations with people about their thoughts on mental health and fatherhood but you don’t need to be a man or a father to participate! As well as giving a recorded interview participants will have their portrait photograph taken.

The photos will then be put on display in an audio-visual installation alongside headphones so people visiting the display can listen to excerpts of the conversations. The installation will tour nationally to places like barber shops, community centres and gyms with the aim of destigmatising conversations around mental health and fatherhood.

As well as having an opportunity to share their thoughts, those taking part will receive digital copies of their portraits.

Anyone interested should book a one hour slot between 10am and 5pm on February 1 at the Old Library, Bodmin. The exhibition will be ready for public viewing in Bodmin on March 4 and 5 to coincide with Alright Mate?’s play ‘Cracking’ which will be performed at the Old Library.
