Liskeard & District Angling Club is inviting more members to join and get involved with their conservation work.
With a core membership of around 130 anglers, the club owns or leases
approximately 22 miles of fishing rights across six rivers; mostly on the Fowey,
and Lynher, with additional stretches on the Camel, West Looe, Seaton and
Inny rivers.
Members regularly carry out habitat management work to maintain and protect spawning sanctuaries and enhance bank-side environments. The club actively supports the only two salmon hatcheries in Cornwall, with many members regularly giving up their free time to help with the daily routine and care of the hatchery fish.
Salmon, Sea Trout, Trout and Grayling fishing is available. Fishing seasons and permitted methods vary across each of the rivers but cater for the fly, spinner and bait.
Details of how to join can be found on the website at www.ldac.org.uk .
