Calstock Arts is holding one of its ‘Gallery Bar Specials’ on January 27. 

This is a gig that is free on entry with a request to make a donation, all of which goes directly to the band. 

This particular evening sees local band, The Kit Hillbillies, playing. The Kit Hillbillies is an acoustic string band playing a lively mix of bluegrass and old-time folk Americana. The sound is built around banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin and double bass, topped off with old-fashioned vocal harmonies. The band also covers an eclectic range of modern artists from Steve Earle to Radiohead. There is a washboard involved – they have been known to offer to do one lucky audience member’s washing during the interval.
