HATT resident Ian Washburn, 62, received a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the New Year Honours. A drum major in the Devon and Somerset Ceremonial Unit of the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services, Mr Washburn received his award for voluntary services to ‘Music and Firefighters’ Welfare.’
