Lucy Demaine has enjoyed success in rugby trials at Wellington College to win a place as outside centre in the England Under-20 ladies' rugby representative side.

It is just reward for Lucy, following 11 years of playing rugby for club, county and region – the Liskeard Leopards, Cornwall and the South West South Region.

Last year, she captained the Under-18 England team to victory against their Welsh counterparts.

This was as well as succeeding in her A Levels, which has enabled her to start at the Peninsula Medical School as a student.

Lucy now plays in the Exeter University Ladies' first XV alongside two other South West players who were also successful Under-20s triallists.

England Under-20s' training will start in December at Bisham Abbey.

The team's first match will be at Worcester against France in February, with further fixtures against Scotland and Wales, as well as a trip to North America at the end of the season.
