Trust takes on
youth scheme
LOOE Youth Action Group has officially disbanded and has handed over its funds of £3,860.26p to the Looe Development Trust.
The Trust has been making progress on the proposed scheme for children's and youth facilities on the Millpool in West Looe which LYAG fully supports. The Action Group's funds are to be used by the Trust specifically for the development of youth provision in the town.
LYAG chairman, Tom Saddler, said the Group, in conjunction with the Cornwall Youth Service have long been crusading for more youth facilities and has fought for, and supported ongoing youth projects and kept youth provision on the public agenda, although it had been frustrated by lack of buildings.
'The Group is delighted with the current Millpool project' said Mr Saddler, 'and would like to thank all previous fund raisers, including local pubs and other groups, and assures them that all the money will be put to good use in the future under the new auspices of the Trust. The Youth Service will also continue its strong links with Looe Community School and with ongoing community and citizenship programmes'.
