Final success for
fundraisers
THE Looe and district fundraising committee for Mount Edgcumbe Hospice has thanked all who contributed towards making a coffee morning at Looe Golf Club a great success again.
Special thanks were given to the golf club staff.
A profit of £738 was made and a representative from the hospice was present to thank all the helpers who have, over many years, contributed to the stalls.
Sadly this is the last event to be held by the present committee in Looe. The committee members said it is becoming increasingly difficult to enlist new and younger members with an interest in fundraising and, as some of the founder members such as Yvonne and Russ Loveridge, Sheila and Jim Welshman and Kath Simmonds have actually been involved since l976, they now feel that their 25 years of involvement is long enough.
Thanks were extended by the hospice representative to Penny Olford, chair, Kathy Jones, Pam Penton and Freda Murray for their efforts over the years. The committee will, as individuals, continue to support the hospice in their own way. They added that they hope that the local community will also continue to recognise the financial support still needed by Mount Edgcumbe Hospice.
