Liskeard Sixth Form celebrates best results in four years

STUDENTS at Liskeard Sixth Form are celebrating after achieving the school’s strongest overall set of results in four years.

The sixth form said students had excelled across both academic and vocational subjects, with some achieving the highest possible grades.

Staff said the results put the achievements of students on a par with some of the best-performing schools and students across the country.

The school is also celebrating the number of students who have secured their desired next steps, including places on degree courses, apprenticeships, further training and employment.

Headteacher Dan Wendon said: “I’m so pleased to see the success of our students this year. A successful local Sixth Form is crucial to the ongoing strength of our local community and so I am delighted that this set of results represents the best overall grades achieved in recent years.

“This really shows the ambition for excellence shared by staff and students.”

Head of Sixth Form Aly Boniface said the results represented the strongest performance since the Covid pandemic.

added: “Our students have produced the strongest set of results Liskeard Sixth Form has seen since Covid – and they have done it right across the curriculum.

“What is particularly pleasing is that more students have reached the grades they needed than in any recent year. That is often the harder thing to achieve. A huge well done to the students and a huge thank you to the families who supported and backed these students throughout their time at Liskeard Sixth Form.”

The sixth form said it was grateful to parents, families and staff for supporting students throughout their studies.

Liskeard Sixth Form is also continuing to grow, with enrolment for new students opening on Thursday, August 20.
