I hope for all our sakes that the driver that hit and killed a black cat on Friday, October 1, outside Wringworthy Farm, Morval, does not have the same disregard for human life as they do for animals. The driver made no attempt to slow or avoid the cat but more importantly didn't stop but just left her writhing in the road for others to run over again, or pick up and trace the owner. Maybe you were late for work (as I was after helping her) or not quite awake, an accident even. But that is no excuse for what you did. If you had slowed a little you would have missed her, she had nearly made it. There was no way you didn't know as she was flung up under your car several times. I was driving towards you and saw it all clearly. I stopped and did what you should have done, preventing others from running over her and finding her owner. I say she, because her name was Bella. She died in my arms, but at least I know she was not alone in her final moments but with someone who cared.
