Looe will be lighting up tomorrow (Friday Dec 7) as the first in a whole weekend of events starts off the town’s festive season.
Lantern parades will set off from East and West Looe, converging on the bridge and making their way to the Quayside Centre for carols and the lights switch-on.
Mayor Armand Toms has encouraged every resident and business on the harbour and hillsides to play their part in making Looe’s illuminations better than ever this year.
He will be offering prizes to the best dressed homes and businesses overlooking the town.
On Saturday, Santa will arrive by boat to East Looe and will be meeting children at his grotto. A Christmas market, children’s entertainment and music will continue all afternoon - and there may even be the chance to meet some ‘reindeer’. Parking in Looe will be free all day.
On Sunday the seasonal fun continues with a fancy dress Santa fun run in the morning, and a Christmas market and Gin Fair on Buller Quay in the afternoon.
