AT a recent town council meeting, the committee discussed Saltash's six-year-old town clock, which is under review as it is not working. The council are to obtain quotes and get expert advice about the repair. Repairs might be so expensive that a new clock may be the answer to the problem. Allotment charges of £20 are to remain the same, the committee decided. Planning permission for a bus shelter in North Road for buses going into Cornwall is still awaited, said cllr Joe Ellison. Donations are proposed for help towards the Air Cadets and St John Ambulance events. It has to be ratified by the full town council. The forthcoming town council's showcase event, when local groups can advertise their organisation, will be in the Guildhall on February 16. Thirty-five organisations are taking part so far.
